  • Melissa D'Souza

I have taught Piano/Keyboard with NZ Modern School of Music for over seventeen years and have taught at Balmoral School more than 15 years. I have studied music with Trinity College London. (Classical Theory & Practical).

At Balmoral School, I teach practical Piano/Keyboard and music theory. I offer my students the opportunity to participate at the NZMSM Annual Music Competitions as well as sit practical and theory examinations fi they are happy to do so.

I stage annual concerts for my pupils to celebrate and share their musical achievements with their peers, family and friends. this gives the pupils an opportunity to gain confidence and performance skills. However, this is not compulsory, as your child may wish to learn a musical instrument soley for the experience.

I was brought up in a family where music was a big part of our lives. We had a piano, guitar, saxophone and harmonicas played both at home and at events and competitions. I have two grown-up children who share my love of music.
